Patricia Apollonia Kotero has been an actress and model in America for a number of years. Her most well-known role was co-starring in the film of Prince's Purple Rain and for having been the lead singer of the group of girls Apollonia 6. Apollonia is a singer/actress who was christened by Prince in 1984, became one of the many female artists of the 1980s that benefited from Prince. Patricia Kotero was born in Santa Monica in California in 1959. Her first professional venture was as a model in the late 1970s. Kotero also was a guest on CHiPS. Kotero was the female lead in Prince's Purple Rain in 1984 (at when he was changing her name). The same year, she took over Vanity as part of the trio Vanity 6 and was a part of them under the title Apollonia 6 in the film. The singer made a bigger impression on the charts when she was Prince's partner in Take Me with You, which was a duet in his soundtrack. Kotero and Prince were at odds regarding her career. Apollonia6 split, Kotero didn't keep her romance with Prince. The actress appeared in several smaller films, like Purple Rain's sequel Under the Cherry Moon (which she did not want to be in), and then landed the part of Falcon Crest on the Night-Time drama Falcon Crest from 1985-1986. Apollonia finally released her debut in 1988 but the fairly pedestrian set of R&B/dance songs failed to impress people who buy music and the album soon vanished off the shelves. The actress continued acting (if somewhat obscure) during the subsequent decade. The small roles on TV, minor films, and exercise videos kept her full of work. Apollonia released a bilingual album in Spanish and English named Stay With me in 1997. In later years, after going back to college and obtaining the degree of filmmaking, she founded her own production business. Apollonia wears multiple hats. She has worked as an actress, model as well as a talent manager. As an actress she is well-known for her part in the 1984 film Purple Rain. She has also appeared on television shows as well as in movies like Black Magic Woman. Kotero debuted her career as a model. She's been involved in a variety of competitions as well as pageants.
